Story City Parks and Recreation Department: Coronavirus Information
  • Effective July 27th face coverings are required to enter the Recreation Center and while in the hallways of the facility. You do not have to wear one while using the track or gymnasium. 
  • Patrons 12 and older may use the facility, 11 and under must participate with an adult from their household

    • Personal Responsibility, Stay home If:
      • You are sick
      • You have a temperature
      • Someone in your household is sick
      • You or someone you have been in contact with has tested positive for COVID-19
    • Walking Track:
      • Limited to 3 people at a time.
      • No walking side by side unless from the same household.
      • Please use social distancing and pass at the corners where there is more space.
    • Gym:
      • 1 person per hoop except for those living in the same household
      • No contact games allowed
      • Please bring your own ball, all basketballs have been put away
      • Social distancing required for non-household members.
    • Locker Rooms:
      • Social distancing required in locker rooms
    • No rentals, group meetings or any social events at this time.
    • Please use social distancing while checking in and respect personal space in all areas.
    • No gathering in groups in any part of the facility.

    All Guidelines are subject to change at discretion of Story City Parks & Recreation

  • All City of Story City parks will fully open June 1st. This includes playgrounds, courts, diamonds and disc golf. Restrooms will be open but water fountains will remain off at this time. While visiting any public space, use your best judgment and act responsibly; bring your own sanitation supplies with you and adhere to recommended guidelines of keeping social gatherings to less than 10 people and observing social distancing standards.  If you do not feel well or have been sick, stay home.
  • The situation will continue be reviewed and any changes or extensions will be communicated to the public through our Facebook page and email.
